    President

    Angela Powell MLS, MSN, CEN, CPEN, TCRN is a Patient Safety and Risk Manager with the Roseburg VA Healthcare System. She has over 17 years experience in acute care; the majority in emergency nursing. Angela has a passion promoting professional development, healthcare advocacy, and ethics. She has volunteered with Oregon ENA since 2018 as Education Chair, Membership Chair, Government Affairs Co-Chair, State Board Director, and President. She has also served as a board member for the Oregon State Board of Nursing, has been an item writer for Board Certification of Emergency Nursing's (BCEN) CEN exam, and peer reviews various nursing literature and text books. Although her schedule is often filled with volunteer activities, she finds self-care in a wide range of activities from riding dirt bikes with her kids, taking road trips, or unwinding by a camp fire with a good book.

    Matt Edinger MHA, RN has been working in healthcare for over 20 years. He began his work as a volunteer EMT before moving away from the prehospital setting and into the Emergency Department while he attended college. After obtaining a bachelors degree in biochemistry and a masters in healthcare administration, Matt would go on to get his RN. He moved to San Diego before COVID and worked for UCSD as a Trauma Nurse Analyst in their Level 1 Trauma Program and worked remotely as the Trauma Coordinator for Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach, OR. Currently, Matt works at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, OR as the Trauma Coordinator. Outside of work, Matt is an avid outdoorsman where he regularly white water rafts, hikes, and camps. If he’s not out in the woods, he’s in the garage tinkering.

    Kat Hammond DNP FNP APRN CEN is on faculty at Oregon Health & Sciences University where she teaches in the BSN program. In addition to her faculty role, she is also an FNP and house supervisor for Providence Health Systems. She has 16 years experiences, most of which was spent in various roles in the ED. She has a passion for nursing education, emergency nursing, and nurse well-being. For the past six years she has worked is an advanced practice consultant and expert witness for the Oregon State Board of Nursing. She also served as the 2023 Co-Chair for the ENA Conference Education Planning Committee.

    Anne Groundwater BSN, RN, CEN has been an emergency nurse for 9 years in the Portland Metro Area. She works at Providence Portland Medical Center's ED as a charge nurse and chairs their Education Committee, which coordinates continuing education and staff development. She's seen first-hand at the bedside how the pandemic, an increasing behavioral health population, and growing risks to staff safety have reshaped our emergency nursing field. She's been to multiple state and national ENA conferences and has represented Oregon ENA as a delegate at the ENA convention.

    Bill Light MSN RN CEN CPEN TCRN is an ED nurse from the Salem area with more than 22 years of experience focused on trauma and pediatric emergency nursing. Bill has been a central figure in Oregon Emergency Nurses Association since joining in 2004. He has served on the state board of directors for OR ENA for 12 terms since 2006 serving in the roles of Secretary, Director-at-Large, President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President. Bill has also held multiple committee appointments for state and national ENA over the last fifteen years to support and further the profession of emergency nursing. In 2010, Bill was invited to join Solheim Enterprises and began speaking around the country to nurses seeking specialty certification. Today Bill continues to reach thousands of healthcare providers each year through conferences and seminars to improve practice at all levels of care.

    Todd Luther has been a member of the Oregon ENA for the past 10+ years having served as the Oregon ENA President in 2022.. Todd has been a TNCC instructor for 15+ years and ENPC instructor for 7+ years. He is also a TNCC/ENPC Faculty. Todd has had the opportunity to represent Oregon ENA several times as a delegate during the national General Assembly as well as at Day on The Hill.
